Pim explains how ...
Name: Pim Hermans
Current position: Supervisor Logistics & Services
With ARP since: 20 October 2008
The past 15 years have flown by. For me, ARP is a place where I can walk my own path and I’m given a lot of freedom. With this job, I have a perfect work-life balance.
What brought you to ARP?
That decision dates back more than 15 years. I started out as temp after getting a job through an agency before becoming a permanent employee a year later. Thanks to the great atmosphere and the multitude of activities we enjoy together, the time has flown by. For me, ARP is truly a great place to work; a place where you are given the freedom and trusted to do your own thing.
What does a typical workday look like?
I always start by reviewing my schedule and checking for ans escalations or anything else urgent. After that, I talk with my colleagues to discuss the previous day and discuss today’s plan. The rest of the day is a mix of jobs and responding to whatever else comes up. I work closely with many different departments, which means no day is the same as the next, which is something I really value.
How do you balance the personal and professional?
I work part-time, which allows me to combine working at ARP with my passion for sports. I go to the gym once a day and also work as a personal trainer. I love sharing my passion with my colleagues, which is why I lead our Choose Fit programme—focused on promoting health and well-being among ARP employees. As part of this initiative, I give boxercise classes to colleagues every other week.
