With this new label, ARP (and the customer) can see the current status of their shipment and where it is. ARP is one of the first companies testing out collecting data from real customers.
So far, the new label has been used twice for shipments to Austria and once for delivery to Denmark and Italy. All tests have gone well, but further tests will be carried out with an updated version and once approved and successful, the GPS labels will be used on all relevant parcels.
The labels do incur a cost, but they should become considerably more affordable once the technology becomes more mainstream.
The labels allow us to keep track of our customers shipments.
