Product details for QNAP TS-877XU-RP 4GB 8-bay NAS

If you're looking for a secure and efficient way to store your data, then QNAP's TS-877XU-RP-1200-4G rackmount NAS is an excellent choice. Unlike the usual external hard drives, you can simultaneously connect all computers in your network to this NAS (network-attached storage) device. It offers you ample storage space and uses much less electricity than regular PCs. The rackmount NAS device and is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 3.4 GHz processor. With this model's 4 GB of RAM several users can access its data at the same time. The following data storage arrays are available for this rackmount NAS system: 0, 1, 10, 5, 50, 6 and JBOD. Using a JBOD architecture to create a multi-disk storage space means you can combine hard drives of random sizes and will not lose the storage capacity of any of them. This is not the case with RAID levels.

Using RAID 0 means your hard drives (ideally of equal storage capacities) are interconnected and work parallely. This increases performance and speed as the work is split bewteen multiple drives, but there is no fault tolerance. RAID 1 offers you high data security through data mirroring. A replica is created of all your data from one drive to another, meaning if one crashes you will still retain all of your information. This also means that the capacity of all your drives is halved because of duplicated content. For smaller NAS systems RAID 1 is an ideal option. Using RAID 5 means your data is split among multiple hard drives — when one drive has an error the data is copied and distributed to the other drives. With this method you can retain the storage capacity of all your drives. It's the ideal choice for larger NAS systems with more than three drives. When using RAID 6 you get higher data security, even if two hard drives fail, the system will still function.

Take advantage of exceptional quality and all-round excellent service, from the moment you order to the delivery of your purchase.
