On 18 November 2025, ARP, together with its sister organisation Bechtle, will be hosting the tenth edition of Bechtle NEXT. What began in 2018 as a fresh initiative for IT professionals has grown into a cornerstone of the Dutch IT sector. Bechtle NEXT is the place to exchange knowledge, gain insights and inspiration, and connect with fellow experts.

We’re excited about this special anniversary edition, not just because it marks a milestone, but because it reflects what Bechtle stands for—choosing the right moment to innovate. We’ll look back at the lessons learned over the past years and forward to the future—from mastering complex IT environments to building a solid foundation.

Technophilosopher Rens van der Vorst challenges you to rethink your relationship with digital technology. How do we stay human in an age of ChatGPT, screen addiction, and data-driven systems? With absurd yet thought-provoking examples Rens holds up a mirror to our digital lives. Because only by understanding what it truly means to be human can we design, implement, and use technology that genuinely supports us.

Avans is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands, with around 35,000 students and 3,000 staff. In this session, Steven Koeken, IT Administrator, shares how his department, in collaboration with Bechtle and the ARP Services Hub, successfully rolled out 2,000 laptops in just 3.5 weeks—complete with additional services. From preparation and registration to planning and distribution, Steven will take you through how such a large-scale project was made manageable.

In this session, Leen van Duijn brings a unique blend of business acumen and cybersecurity expertise. He gives guest lectures, leads workshops, writes articles, develops teaching materials, and builds and researches tools that help you think about your relationship with technology. Steven shares how he successfully distributed 2,000 laptops in just three and a half weeks—thanks to the support of ARP and Bechtle. This efficient approach ensured continuity in both education and business operations, gave the IT department greater peace of mind and control, and resulted in high user satisfaction. Over the summer months, the old laptops returned by employees were repurposed into secure exam devices. By sharing his experience, Steven aims to highlight what can be achieved through strong collaboration and a forward-thinking mindset.
